  • The Senior Accountant / Financial Reporting & Analysis Specialist will play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance and high-quality financial analysis.
    This is a great opportunity for a finance professional who combines strong accounting expertise with analytical thinking, advanced Excel skills and excellent communication abilities.
    The ideal candidate is not someone who simply prepares numbers, but someone who can understand the story behind the numbers, identify trends and variances, and confidently present financial insights to management.
    The Senior Accountant will work closely with Finance and other business functions, contributing to management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory reporting and continuous improvement of financial processes.

  • Financial Accounting & Reporting:
    • Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable legislation and internal policies.
    • Record and review accounting transactions in the existing Mentor Software and ensure the integrity of financial data.
    • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities to submit to the expert company.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
    • Perform balance sheet, bank, customer and supplier reconciliations.
    • Analyse general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
    • Ensure accurate accounting treatment and proper supporting documentation.
    • Support internal and external audit processes.
    Financial Analysis & Business Insights:
    • Analyse P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and working capital performance.
    • Prepare monthly management reporting packages and performance analyses.
    • Analyse actual results versus budget, forecast and prior periods.
    • Investigate significant variances and provide clear explanations and recommendations.
    • Develop financial models, dashboards and analytical tools to support management decision-making.
    • Monitor key financial and operational KPIs.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
    Regulatory & BNR Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit BNR (National Bank of Romania) regulatory reports accurately and within required deadlines.
    • Prepare other statutory and regulatory reports as required.
    • Ensure compliance with Romanian accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
    • Keep up to date with relevant changes in accounting and reporting legislation.
    Excel, Reporting & Automation:
    • Use advanced Excel capabilities to analyse, consolidate and present financial data.
    • Build and maintain reporting templates and financial models.
    • Work with Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS and other advanced Excel functions.
    • Support continuous improvement and digitalisation of financial reporting, if requested
    Management Presentations & Communication:
    • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for management and business meetings.
    • Present financial results, KPIs, budgets, forecasts and business analyses in a clear and concise manner.
    • Explain financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
    • Confidently communicate findings, risks, trends and recommendations in professional English.
    • Collaborate with other departments to understand business performance and provide relevant financial insights.
    Process Improvement & Controls:
    • Identify opportunities to improve accounting, reporting and finance processes.
    • Support the development and implementation of effective internal controls.
    • Document and improve financial procedures and workflows.
    • Participate in finance transformation and process optimisation initiatives.
    • Contribute to increasing the efficiency, accuracy and quality of financial reporting.

    • Master Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
    • Qualified Accountant / CECCAR qualification is a plus,
    • ⁠Professional certification is a strong advantage.
    • Relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting and/or financial analysis.
    • Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax legislation.
    • Good understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
    • Strong hands-on experience with accounting software, experience with Mentor would be a plus.
    • Advanced Excel skills and strong data-analysis capabilities.
    • Very good PowerPoint skills.
    • Fluent/professional English, both written and spoken.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to understand the bigger business picture.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Comfortable presenting financial information to management.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
    • Proactive, structured and solution-oriented mindset.
    It Would Be a Plus:
    • Experience with BNR reporting.
    • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
    • Experience with financial modelling and management reporting.
    • Experience with finance transformation or process automation
    • Experience working with auditors, tax advisors or external consultants.
    • Experience in an international or multinational environment.
